Removal behavior of Zn and alkalis from blast furnace dust in pre-reduction sinter process

Abstract In this study, iron concentrate and blast furnace dust were used as raw materials, graphite was a reducing agent for mixing briquetting. The briquettes roasted in high-temperature tube at different temperatures held certain time to simulate the pre-reduction sintering process. effects of content, reduction time, temperature on removal rate zinc, potassium, sodium metallization sintered products investigated. reduced characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy, flame atomic absorption spectroscopy further explore mechanisms removal. Zn increased gradually with increase reaching 97.57% 87.14% 30% respectively. Both K Na rates reached maximum 83.57% 94.78%, respectively, 25% content. With temperature, three elements increased. When 20% (BF) content 1,200℃ 20 min, 95.66%, 79.97%, 91.49%, 84.77%. It shows that process can effectively remove Zn, K, from BF meet requirements subsequent production. research results provide some theoretical basis industrial
